Created as part of his residency at The Royal Armouries Leeds and encounters with young participants who had experienced violence and conflict in the home, Emancipation plays (tongue firmly in cheek) with the notion of escaping the marital bonds through foul means rather than fair. Acknowledging that the majority of assaults and murders are committed in the home by someone known to the victim, Emancipation loads domestic objects with murderous intent.
